Multiple requests to mod_cache while content is being regenerated

Hi,

I’m running Apache/2.2.11 with mod_jk/1.2.27 on Windows Server 2003. I would like to know how mod_cache behaves when it receives multiple concurrent requests to a URL that’s not in cache (or has expired). Will it request the URL multiple times from the back-end Tomcat application server via mod_jk, or will it request the URL once and queue the other requests until a response is received (or maybe serve them the stale content until a response is received)?

Thanks,

Karim
