   What you're attempting to do is possible using PHP.  The "header()" function allows you to accomplish what you're trying to do.  The definition is at http://us2.php.net/manual/en/function.header.php. Putting "header('Location: location_to_go_to')" will redirect to wherever you point as long as you put it in the script before any HTTP headers are sent.  It can also use relative paths.

This is already done. Any URL of the form:
http://www.mydomain.com/topic-guide.php?<something> will cause apache
to process topic-guide.php, with whatever passed as arguments passed
on to the script. It is up to your script to deal with the arguments.
