Title: MSIE uri header param incorrect with https digest proxy authentication?

This is not the query string problem with IE6 (e.g. the Apache MSIE hack does not work).

Apache is configured as a proxy that requires digest authentication.  The uri parameter in question is from the Proxy-Authorization header.

When going to a https url.  MS Internet Explorer sends a uri parameter ("/") that does not match the requests uri.  Firefox sets the uri to the hostname which works with Apache.

When going to a http url.  Both MSIE and Firefox work, setting the url parameter to the path/query part of the url.

Apache's error
Fri Dec 05 15:41:35 2008] [error] [client x.x.x.x] Digest: uri mismatch - </> does not match request-uri <ahostname:443>

Does MSIE not support this?  Is there a Apache proxy configuration setting to handle this?
