apache api compatibility with ipv6

Hi All,

We are using apache api in our application to get the client's IP address.We are getting the IP address using "requestRec->connection->remote_ip" call.
This call seems to work with IPv4 version.
Can somebody confirm that if the same API will work for IPv4.

If the same API is compatible with IPv6 ,then we apache API should we use for IPv6 protocl.
