I have asked sys admin to find out if
any patching was done recently & i suspect that would be the bottleneck
area bcoz i had installed IBM http server earlier & the instance was
running smooth.... after few days i tried again & this time it failed
so i guess it could be some patching problem..
one thing i really don't understand
is that now if installation is correctly done, how come i don get any error
anywhere if instance is unable to start.I should see some error message
either in 'error.log' or on the prompt...but thats not the case...same
installation i did for AIX & its working fine....
On solaris (5.10)when i run the instance
,it returns the prompt with no message(which i assume is exit code - 0
,success)...but then instance doesn't start... :(
has anyone ever faced problems of this
type,even when its default installation (httpd.conf & apachectl) ?
without any error message,its difficult
to understand whats going wrong..

Thanks & Regards

And check with your sysadmin(s) to see if any recent patching or other
system work might have changed linking in any way on this host.
