right now I'm trying to get my virtual host to work so i can separate. The
two different web pages into separate file structures so they will
effectively be two different web pages. I set it up last night but it
grieved on me and said that the first file directory would take precedent
over the second. I know I'm doing something wrong.

what purpose do you plan for?
if you want to redirect user's request to different servers based on
the user's IP, you can use bind9's view.
if you want to run two dns on the same server, you can use bind's
forward, forward a special zone requests to another dns server on the
same host.
