I have recently made attempts to add the authenticated username in apache to a HTTP header using mod_headers. The httpd server acts as a man in the middle redirecting traffic to a tomcat using mod_jk. However it seems REMOTE_USER is not visible to the RequestHeader directive. Why is that? Is RequestHeader perhaps processed before authentication has taken place? Is there any way to change this behavior?
