Running Apache 2.2 on Debian sid. In my httpd.conf I have the following: AccessFileName .htaccess AllowOverride All In my web root I have a .htaccess file with a simple rewrite rule but nothing gets rewritten If I cut & paste the rewrite rule into a <Directory> section in httpd.conf then the rewrite works.
