You must not delete the ServerName directive, it should look like:

<VirtualHost *:80>
    ...
    ServerName teknerds.net
    ServerAlias www.teknerds.net
    DocumentRoot /srv/www/htdocs/sites/teknerds
    ...
</VirtualHost>
