I'm not sure if this works in a gateway configuration but try it anyway:

SetEnv Proxy-Chain-Auth On

(Btw, s/loose/lose/ in your config comments :)

RequestHeader is used to fiddle with the incoming request from the
client, not gateway/proxy headers.
