Hi all.

I am a newcomer to this list, as this is the first time I am
experiencing some trouble with Apache. Greetings to the whole list.

I was trying to install the latest 2.0 series release (2.0.61) on a
machine running WinXP SP2 and I got a 1711 error during installation.

A few more things about the error message here:
Error 1711: An error occurred while writing installation information to
disk. Check to make sure enough disk space is available, and click
Retry, or Cancel to end the install.

http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa372835.aspx

I have >90Gb free disk space on the partition where I was installing,
therefore the problem must lie somewhere else.

I downloaded the latest 2.2 series release but the problem remains.
Perhaps it is an installer problem, but downloading the latest version
from Microsoft did not solve the problem either.

Has this problem occurred to somebody else? Do you have a solution?

Thanks a lot.

Kind regards,
Stavros
