Sorry, I haven't used Webalizer for while so I'm no use to you on that point. I use a tool called monit (http://www.tildeslash.com/monit ) to monitor the run state of various system daemons (this is for UNIX and UNIX like systems). I've used Cacti (http://cacti.net) in the past for tracking and graphing system performance metrics. I've also used munin (http://munin.projects.linpro.no).
