Does anyone know how to generate a certificate for
a main domain and any numbers of sub-domains for a domain in Linux?
I got my subdomains working using one cert for the
main domain and the same cert for the subdomains. However, I get
the "certificate issued to another domain" error when accessing the sub
domains.
cheers

part of what the point of certificates is (along
with encypting data) is to ensure you are connecting to the domain for which
the cert was issued.
The data (assuming the users says 'yes, continue
to the site' in thier browser (when they get the error that will show up, will
be encrypted.

I have an account with GoDaddy.com and they have
a "6 in 1" certificate that allows you to have 6 sub-domains in one
certificate, I have done a lot of research lately on certificates, and
they seem to have one of the best deals around.
I use them for
all my dns, and have been very happy with the software they have which
allows me to manage my domains.
I also have email accounts with them,
and they are incredibly easy to setup, and change as well...
