mssql functions in PHP cease to function properly after Apache serves up several large static PDF files that are located on a Samba server as part of a virtual host. If the same PDF files are stored on a local drive, there isn't a problem. The version of Apache doesn't matter, nor does PHP.
IIS does not have this problem.
