Still cannot get it working... I start with ./configure --prefix=~/www make make install then, hwg300@fspc233:~/www/bin$ ./apachectl start fopen: No such file or directory httpd: could not open document config file ~/www/conf/httpd.conf ./apachectl start: httpd could not be started But the configuration file is definately there !! hwg300@fspc233:~/www/bin$ ls -l ~/www/conf/httpd.conf -rw-r--r-- 1 hwg300 i02 32660 May 1 09:27 /home/hwg300/www/conf/httpd.conf
