In order to make a virtual domain ONLY serve up a single webapp, I am trying to use mod_rewrite in it, thus (I replaced all sensitive information in the stanza below): <VirtualDomain *:80> ServerName dir.com JkMount /dir tomcat JkMount /dir/* tomcat RewriteEngine ON RewriteRule !^/dir /dir/ [R,L] <Location /> AuthType Basic AuthName "Dir" AuthUserFile /home/password/htpasswd require user dir </Location> </VirtualDomain> the RewriteRule causes an infinite loop error when I try to fetch a page.. Oddly, this has worked in the past. Any suggestions as to what I am doing wrong? I've tried lots of different flags on the RewriteRule (ns, ne, pt) all to no avail. is this an interaction with mod_jk?
Have you used the RewriteLog? Does this work without the RewriteRule? How is UseCanonicalName set?
