Try it out and learn to configure Tidy to your liking, don't jump to
conclusions!

- You can turn off XHTML compliance, etc.
- You might be able to process only your shopping cart directory, etc.
to limit it's scope/impact.
- You can control output with other configurations.

I've mentioned it to them a couple times now with no luck.

Yeah it doesn't sound like it's for a production environment.  A
response delay is one thing, but:

"If TidyLib detects an error, the client receives a HTML page with a
list of all found errors and warnings that prevent the input of being
a valid (X)HTML document."

Any other options?
