Slightly off-topic, but maybe the experts who hang around here know the answer:

Is there a "correct" way for a CGI script to know whether it should display the result from 10191/10 as 1019.1 1,019.1 or 1.019 ,1 (or any others you can mention, for that matter!)

I can get a clue from the users language preferences, but I suspect I need more detail than that.
