The DocumentRoot is the same for a CGI script, but when a script is running, the URL is usually something like hotsname/cgi-bin/scriptname so if you refer to myscript.js (note the lack of the leading "/") then apache will try to fetch "
myscript.js" from the same directory as the CGI script came from. It will also try to execute it (as it is coming from a CGI script directory).

Are you referring to the Document Root in httpd.conf?  I still need the document root from the file system, but is there a way that when cgi is used it is fed a different argument?
