I believe logrotate is meant to rename the original "hard coded" file. I don't think you need the variable. -ds----- Original Message ----- From: <sniedermeyer@xxxxxxx>

I know how to specify the name of the access log. However, I've been unable to uncover how to specify a file name with a variable. For example, I'm using log rotate and would like to have the file name include the date. Does anyone know how to accomplish this? ____________________________ Steven Niedermeyer Bellingham, WA --------------------------------------------------------------------- The official User-To-User support forum of the Apache HTTP Server Project.
