DSO means that mod_so.c has to present on the system, right?
Well I can't find it. Does this mean it won't work? Or are there other
checks?

The AddModule command gives me this error:

./apache2 start
Starting httpd2 (prefork) Syntax error on line 7 of /etc/apache2/default-server.conf:
Invalid command 'AddModule', perhaps mis-spelled or defined by a module not included in the server configuration

The command line was:
/usr/sbin/httpd2-prefork -f /etc/apache2/httpd.conf failed
