Ah, I have solved this problem via commenting out the 'AddDefaultCharset UTF-8' directive. :D

Subject: [users@httpd] Apache Symbols (charset?)

Hello all, thanks for taking the time to read this.

I have just setup a Fedora Core 5 box and installed all the usual things, apache, MySQL, PHP etc. When I upload a page with the pound symbol in and try to view it, it appears as a kind of question mark in a little box.

I have been looking around and can not find the answer to this anywhere. I believe its something to do with the charset, but I'm not entirely sure, not really sure what I'm doing with this so as much help as possible would be hugely appreciated.

Thanks again for taking the time to look at this.

Cheers

Rob
