Sorry, I have tried to read this thread but I am totally confused; could you please see if your SSL sections match this example: http://dw.ccsh.us/doku.php?id=ssl Some sections are required and the httpd MUST be able to read the crt/pem file; also, if you have the ssl cert password protected you will have to manually start apache as it prompts for the password.
