I have AIX 5.2 , so how do i tell if I have md5 or pgp on my system.

This is explained here: http://httpd.apache.org/download.cgi#verifyBasically, you download the file linked to by [PGP] and/or [MD5] next to the distro you just downloaded and then you run one of the commands shown (depending on what you've got installed on your system). Personally, I use the MD5 signature since I have Gnu textutils (see link on the page). To verify, I do:$ md5sum httpd-2.2.2.tar.gzThis returns a hex string which is the MD5 checksum of the data in the file. You I then compare this with the data in the [MD5] link and check the strings match.
