The mod-auth stuff at sourceforge represents early development of the new 2.1/2.2 authnz framework, from long before the API had stabilised[1]. I don't know if there's a more uptodate version. If google doesn't help, try IRC: the author of mod_authn_pop3 is often to be found there (but doesn't AFAIK read this list).
