I'd say d/l and compile openssl and install it in /usr/local. BTW, did someone actually RTFM ??? NOTE: When your system already has OpenSSL installed (for instance some Linux distributions ship with OpenSSL installed out-of-the-box) in system locations you can ignore the OpenSSL steps above, too. Then use `SSL_BASE=SYSTEM' instead of `SSL_BASE=../openssl-0.9.x' below and mod_ssl will search for OpenSSL's binary, header and library files in $PATH and system locations. sanjay tripathi wrote: > HI, > Run " ldconfig" command and then compile that apache... > > > Thanks > Sanjay Tripathi > > */JM <jerome@xxxxxxxxx>/* wrote: > > Hi, > > rpm -q -l --provides openssl-0.9.7a-20.2 | grep libssl > libssl.so.4 > /lib/libssl.so.0.9.7a > > > # SSL_BASE=/lib/ > [root@test apache_1.3.34]# ./configure --disable-module=all > --prefix=/usr/local/apache --server-uid=apache --server-gid=apache > --enable-module=access --enable-module=log_config --enable-module=dir > --enable-module=mime --activate-module=src/modules/php4/libphp4.a > --enable-module=alias --enable-module=status --enable-module=ssl > --enable-shared=ssl --enable-module=auth > > > Error: Cannot find SSL binaries under /lib/ > + SSL library path: /lib/ > > I still get this error.. > > tia, > > > On Thursday 23 February 2006 9:25 pm, Oliver.Schaudt@xxxxxxxxx wrote: > > Make an "rpm -qa | grep openssl" > > then with the outcoming name (for example "openssl-0.9.8a-11.18") > > make > > rpm -q -l --provides openssl-0.9.8a-11.18 | grep libssl > > Than you shoudl know where it is. > > > > bye > > > > Oliver > > > > > > > > -----Ursprüngliche Nachricht----- > > Von: JM [mailto:jerome@xxxxxxxxx] > > Gesendet: Do 23.02.2006 13:20 > > An: users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > > Cc: Joost de Heer; ziwei ds > > Betreff: Re: [users@httpd] Re: Apache1.3.33 with mod_ssl > compilation error > > > > Hi, > > > > what application provides ssl library? > > > > in my system openssl and the dev was is currently installed via RPM. > > > > Ive tried setting SSL_BASE to /usr/lib but with no luck..
