I can't imagine htdig having _anything_ to do with the Apache.  Is this a new version, i.e. above 3.1.6 ?

But assuming it actually needs apache.. you could compile apache and configure with the --enable-mods-shared=env
parameter, so as to create the mod_env.so file.

Perhaps you're using some sort of rpm installation.. in which case the linux vendor is doing something awful.

Subject: [users@httpd] howto enable mod_env on apache2 ?

hi all,
i installed ht://dig but when running make check i got the following error :

Syntax error on line 12 of /root/downloads/htdig-3.2.0b6/test/conf/httpd.conf:
module env_module is built-in and can't be loaded
****Could not start apache. This test may fail, but that is not ht://Dig's fault
Couldn't purge
FAIL: t_validwords

and then checked /usr/lib/apache2/modules/ ... there was no mod_env.so ?
how can i fix this problem ?
help please ...
