Yes I was trying to setup Apache and a website at home. I
know all about
the DNS stuff. My problem was that the DNS host says I have a IP
address that is different then what my ISP gave me. I even tried to
setup a static IP on my computer but the DNS host still says
a different
IP address. I went to Boutell.com to find out how to host my
own website
at home. I just need to find out how to get the IP addresses
fixed. Thanks!

Hmmm... You have an external public IP address on a home PC? That would be weird... How are you connected to the internet? If via an ADSL modem or something, then the *modem* will have a public IP address on its external side and your server will have an internal address (eg, 192.168.0.100). The modem will act like a router and route packets for the external addr to the internal addr.

DNS should resolve your domain name to external addr (not to the internal one).

If you like, post your domain name and public IP and we'll check it.

Rgds,
Owen Boyle

I connect to the internet via a ADSL modem that is also a router. My public IP address is "141.157.123.182" and my domain name is "myanel.servebeer.com", this is thru No-Ip DNS service. Thanks!
