Well, first things first... Did the module actually linked the ssl libraries ? Which libraries did you tried to link it to ? iPlanet's only support SSL... Also, you need to tell apache where the certs are, ie LDAPTrustedGlobalCert, LDAPTrustedClientCert and LDAPTrustedMode.
