[users@httpd] SSLOptions +FakeBasicAuth without an AuthUserFile ?

For Apache 2.0, is it possible to use "SSLOptions +FakeBasicAuth"
without specifying an AuthUserFile (which I guess would mean without
specifying AuthType as well) ?

The second method referred to in
<http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.0/ssl/ssl_howto.html#certauthenticate>
seems to imply that a AuthUserFile is not necessary. Auth* directives
and an httpd.passwd file are only shown in the first method, but not
in the second.

I gathered from
<http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.0/mod/mod_ssl.html#ssloptions> that an
AuthUserFile is necessary, but now I'm not sure.

thanks,
Tim
