I use two. The first is webalizer (http://www.mrunix.net/webalizer/). The reports are usually enough for most small websites. However it does segfault on RHEL 3 and despite posting questions for help on their mailing the problem has not been resolved (I keep an RH9 box around for a number of things like this). The other is sawmill. http://www.sawmill.net/ This is truly an excellent application. However most people will never need this much data about their site. Their support forums are very responsive. It will work on both Windows and Linux. They use to have a really good pricing policy with a perpetual license (oops just checked their site, the real benefits of the license have been removed). If they charge us for an update, we'll be looking around. Awstats if securely implemented can also be a really useful tool too (they're still reeling from the recent worm attacks). I would suggest picking about 5 or so, download the evaluation copy, and see how they do with your logs. On 11/12/05, David P.
