Problem solved (at last!). It was not enough to
disable my firewall (Armor2net). I have to uninstall it, and then everything
worked fine. I install another firewall and it's ok now. Thanks for your
response.

any webpage using localhost
Looks like you have everything covered. You checke your apache
config, your hosts file, you pinged 127.0.0.1,
and set everything in your apache conf file that would cause any problems. All
I can think of is that something went wrong in the installation, it happens
sometimes with the msi binary.

Hi,
I
have Apache 2.0.55 running as a service in Windows XP SP2. I visited lots
of sites regarding installation and configuration of Apache. My config
file is ok, I didn't change it yet. The name of my server is localhost
in port 80. I can stop and restart the server without problems, but when
try to access the test page (http://localhost/) the browser try for a
long time to access the page, but then I get the 'The page cannot be
found' message.
The value of DocumentRoot is correct. I renamed the
proper html file (portuguese) to index.html. If I open that file
directly, I can seee the test page for Apache.
I don't know if
this is correct or not, but when I write on ms-dos console (cmd)
'netstat -noa' I see that the 80 port is assigned to the IP 0.0.0.0 (0.0.0.0:80). In the utility program Active
Ports from www.ntutility.com
<http://www.ntutility.com>, <http://www.ntutility.com,> I get the
127.0.0.1:80 (Apache.exe). My windows
host file (.../system32/drivers/etc/hosts) contain the correct
information:
127.0.0.1
localhost
Ping 127.0.0.1 works
ok
I try to disable anti-virus, firewall, but nothing
works.
For two days I'm trying to solve the problem without
success.
