	I wouldn't do that if I were you...

	Writing to logfiles is a very early part of the request-handling and processes will wait for the logging call to return before proceeding. So for performance, it is vital that log-writing is fast and reliable. Those are not the first two adjectives I would choose to describe NFS.

You risk random and unreproduceable delays in serving requests due to netwrok latency and, if NFS goes down, so does your server. The best place to put a logfile is on a hard disk plugged into the motherboard on the server. You can then mirror or rotatelog it off to NFS asynchronously....
