[users@httpd] tab chars in error_log, how to get rid of them?

Hello-

Ive been developing a website for several months now.
I was playing around with mod_security and some other
things in apache (I cant even remember now) and for some
reason my output messages in the error_log now contain
tab chars (\t) instead of just a tabbed out spaces.

Example:

[Wed Aug 17 06:12:25 2005] [error] [client xx.xx.xx.xx] \tsearch - QERY: SELECT, referer: http://www.mysite.com/test.html
instead of
[Wed Aug 17 06:12:25 2005] [error] [client xx.xx.xx.xx] search - QERY: SELECT, referer: http://www.mysite.com/test.html

Someone suggested trying mod_diagnostics one day. I thought I removed
that but who knows at this point. I thought this would be
simple to find/fix and its not.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!
Jeff
