[users@httpd] very big files do not appear in listing that apache generates

Hello all,

(please read on... I'm desperate) I've been dealing with this problem for some
time and can't find a solution.

In machineA (fedora 3, apache 2.0.52), in the public /var/www/html/ dirs I got 4
CD iso files (around 600MB each) and 1 DVD iso file (aroung 2GB).

The four small iso's do show up in the html automatically generated by apache...
but the big one doesn't. Permisions are equal on the 5 files (644).

Next I exported that directory with nfs and mounted it on the public folders of
an older server (machineB, RH72 with apache 1.3.27). When I load this older
server in a browser I get to see the big file, but the size does not show and if
I click it I get 'permission denied'... only for that file... the others are ok...

doesn't apache like BIG files ?

the html of this second server (machineB with public folder mounted from
machineA) can be reached at (I hope):

http://robotica.estg.ipvc.pt/software/linux/fedora/

thanks for any help on this...

jmf
