Hi Owen,

I commented out the IndexIgnore line and had the same result.

Then I had this crazy idea:

# cp big_file.iso big_file2.iso

and now 'big_file.iso' still doesn't appear but 'big_file2.iso' does appear....

I checked the permissions and they look the same (both 744).

The same trick did not work with a 'very_big_dvd.iso' 2GB file.

the problem is now partially solved but I'dd like to understand what happened...
any ideas ?

 The output is controlled by mod_autoindex (see
 http://httpd.apache.org/docs-2.0/mod/mod_autoindex.html). Check especially the
 IndexIgnore line.
