[users@httpd] Apache config question

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hello,

I have a small issue and tried searching for an answer but have had no luck, and hoping I can find some help here.

When I view my website (externally) using a web browser, I noticed that on the status bar (at the bottom of the web browser) the url being displayed is the actually ip address, instead of the domain name. Same goes for if I hover my mouse over any links, it will display the ip address as the url.
My question is how do I set up the server so that the url displayed at the bottom is the domain name, instead of the ip address?

Here is my set up:

 apache ver 2
windows 2000
I have a registered domain name and I am using the domain forwarding feature(which is my ip address and the port)
My apache server is home based which is on a router,I am using the port forwarding feature on the router so that the request goes to the proper pc.

Thanks,
Robin
