Thx for your answer, but no. Could it possible that the problem is
caused by the pipe to apache2splitlogfile?

A simple Typo in the LogFormat definition for apachesplitlogfile caused the Problem. Don't know why, but after removing the Typo there are no longer Errormessages like "Too many open Files"
