[users@httpd] Apache 1.3, Tomcat 5.5.9, Mandrake 10.1

I'm installing the Tomcat 5.5.9 on Apache 1.3 and need to be able to 
mask the URL of the web address from

www.somename.com <-> www.somename.com:8181/somewebsitename/

I am told that mod_jk2 with faster than mod_proxy, but I have Apache 1.3

What rewrite rule can I use?  I have looked for the mod_jk in the 
jakarta-tomcat-connectors-1.2.10 but this does not cover Tomcat 5.5 (or 
does it?)  any help is appreciated as I am not familiar with Tomcat.
