This means that you told apache to stop but one of the httpd daemons
(child process) did not exit (probably it was waiting for a CGI script
to finish or something). So the parent had to send it a SIGTERM (which
is a more severe signal).

BTW, it is good you look in the error_log, but don't be too worried by
what you see there. It is normal for occasional messags to appear. If in
doubt, try simply pasting the message into Google as a first thing.
