apachectl -S question/confusion?

Hi.

Trying to track down an issue, and I'm going back to basics to figure
out exactly what the DocRoot should be for my test.

I've copied my test site to "/var/www/html2/berat"

I've got the vhost file in
 /etc/apache2/sites-available/berat.conf
  in the file I have
   documentroot /var/www/html2/berat
   directory /var/www/html/berat

a2dissite shows only the "berat" site/app so no other site/app is
configured..

so when I run
apachectl -S

I get
VirtualHost configuration:
*:80 temp22 (/etc/apache2/sites-enabled/berat.conf:3)
ServerRoot: "/etc/apache2"
Main DocumentRoot: "/var/www/html" <<<<<<< !!!! why
Main ErrorLog: "/var/log/apache2/error.log"
Mutex proxy: using_defaults
Mutex default: dir="/var/run/apache2/" mechanism=default
Mutex mpm-accept: using_defaults
Mutex watchdog-callback: using_defaults
Mutex rewrite-map: using_defaults
PidFile: "/var/run/apache2/apache2.pid"
Define: DUMP_VHOSTS
Define: DUMP_RUN_CFG
User: name="www-data" id=33
Group: name="www-data" id=33

which has
Main DocumentRoot: "/var/www/html" <<<<<<< !!!! why

where would this be set.. why wouldn't this be in the "berat.conf" ??

thanks
