I do not exactly understand by toolchain? Could you please elaborate more of what information I can provide?

On the same environment, we were running apache 1.3 successfully. In this we are using a user module(mod_example) to call a Tuxedo server.

Difficult to say from your email but you will most likely need to build
a complete toolchain before running any recent Apache. It shouldn't
matter one way or that other, but it does, are you on SPARC or x86_64?
Also what compiler and toolchain do you have now?
