Umm.. Thanks for the idea, but I wouldn't have any idea how to do that.. According to AskUbuntu, 2.4.7 is the current version in the Ubuntu repos. According to the thread I read on AskUbuntu, 2.4.7 receives all security patches so its as safe as it can be to be used.. Thanks again, but I guess I have to look elsewhere for assistance..
