Thank you for your advice.  As I waited for your response, I looked up the Access-Control-Allow-Origin error.  A website recommended making a CORS request.  Since I've never created a CORS request, I had no idea what to do.  Any suggestions?

Put your HTML file to the server, don't run it from file.

And you are obviously not having a problem with Apache configuration here, more like it is related to your assignment.

Thank you for the information.  I found one error.  I'm looking into the other.

My main error was that I didn't send it to the correct location.  I should have sent it to:  http://localhost:8080/exist/rest/db/apps/HTML_Student/SVG_Data.xq  I have a new error.

XMLHttpRequest cannot load http://localhost:8080/exist/rest/db/apps/HTML_Student/Database_Example.xq. No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource. Origin 'null' is therefore not allowed access.

I have no idea what this error is.  Can you assist me?
