Sorry,
but I have not tried
to compile the module for Apache 2.4.1. I'm waiting for a stable
version of the module. I guess the SVN version was good, but
did not. :(

Actually I had already tried the given solution, as I had
written before. I downloaded the trunk version and compiled
it. The result was the same, as with the stable release.
Apache still complains about ap_unixd_setup_child beeing
undefined when I try to load mod_fcgid.
But it looks like you have solved the problem this way. Did
