Error code: "ssl_error_rx_unknown_record_type"

This error can mean that you did not properly configure your vhost to use SSL.
You must have set SSLEngine on, SSLCertificateFile, and SSLCertificateKeyFile in your vhost.
Just using port 443 will not tell the server to support SSL.
