Thanks for your input. I'm sorry to hear you have faced the same problem.
I guess I will have to find another solution as well. Unfortunately,
Postgre is probably not the way for me. Using files for user data or
authenticating using php may be my choice.

Does anyone know why this doesn't work out-of the box? Licensing?
