While your approach works as well IIRC converting an arbitrary value into a boolean is usually done with "!!". E.g. that should look like: info->lcd_timing.misc_info.INTERLACE = !!(lvds->lcd_timing.miscinfo & ATOM_INTERLACE); Regards, Christian.
