I would understand it, if the intention was to have GPU and CPU virtual
address spaces match up. That would make sense for implementing SVM. On
64-bit that would lead to 48 address bits (256TB), on a 32-bit system
it's 32-bits (4GB). This could be achieved easily by running with
2-level page tables on 32-bit systems.
