Raspberry Pi - asound/proc/status - state parameter always set to RUNNING?

Hi all, I was passed thi smailing list info in this github issue..

https://github.com/opensrc/alsa/issues/26#issuecomment-352616858

Basically, I'm working on a raspberry pi and need to know when sound is
playing or not, and I'm trying to use the status file's state parameter to
determine when this is. It seems however that my state parameter is always
set to RUNNING and has an owner_pid even though that pid is not showing up
in ps.

Any ideas what may be causing this and how to rectify?

Thanks, any help would be much appreciated.

Regards,
Mike.
